Yangon, the commercial capital, is the main gateway to Myanmar. Evergreen and cool with lush tropical trees, shady parks and beautiful lakes, Yangon has earned the name of "The Garden City of the East".

Itinerary

Yangon full day sightseeing (08:00 AM-06:00 PM)

Morning sightseeing features the beautiful Kandawgyi Lake, Botataung Pagoda, which is hollow and through which you can walk and see many ancient relics and artifacts and Yangon downtown area and from there we walk along the Pansodan street which has many large colonial buildings which are still in use. It is also interesting to see the sidewalk markets including those selling old books and magazines dated from the 1960’s up to the present. And then we will go to Wahdan jetty where we can see the boats come from the Delta and see many goods loaded and unloaded.

The hustle and bustle of the people and the ships create a very colorful experience. Afternoon sightseeing includes colossal reclining Buddha Chaukhtatkyi, and National Museum, filled with artifact and cultural exhibits of Myanmar. And then we will have a quick sightseeing visit in China town before going to the famous Scott Market, a sprawling complex built in 1926 and noted for its variety of handicrafts and other items which provides an excellent opportunity for a shopping spree. Finish our tour with a visit to the awe-inspiring Shwedagon Pagoda which towers over all of Yangon. It is perhaps the most beautiful pagoda complex in all of Asia and is one sight that no visitor to Myanmar should miss.
